The Ramberg sweater brings a unique urban flair to a timeless design. With a relaxed fit, ribbed shoulder details highlighting the drop shoulder, and striking contrast stripes at the neck, sleeves, and bottom hem, Ramberg effortlessly merges classic and contemporary. Inspired by the historic Fana sweater, Ramberg reimagines this heritage piece for today. The classic stripes are updated with a rounded eight-petal-rose design around the chest and a traditional lice pattern, while shoulder accents and stripe rib finishes add a fresh, dynamic touch. Multiple yarn colors blend in the thread mix, giving the Ramberg a vibrant, urban character.

This sweater is knitted with Njord yarn made from 100% fine Norwegian wool, sourced from the sheep's very first shearing. The fibers are short, giving us a finer and softer yarn. The outcome is thin, light and soft garments, while maintaining the brilliance, crimp and longevity for which Norwegian wool is world renowned.

Norwegian wool is one of the world’s most animal-friendly textile fibers, due to the sheep’s natural mountain life. Our Norwegian wool comes from sheep known for roaming freely in the vast Norwegian hillsides while grazing in natural pastures.

To make it machine washable the Njord yarn undergoes a revolutionary new wool treatment using natural non-toxic salts. Machine wash using wool-cycle.

The Ramberg sweater draws its inspiration from the traditional Fana sweater. Originating in Fana, a borough of Bergen, the striped sweaters were historically worn by men for everyday use and became a staple of local attire. Known as "Stripetroye," these striped sweaters also served as undergarments for marines, offering warmth and comfort beneath their uniforms. Women in Fana added their own flair to this heritage by wearing Fana sweaters beneath their bodices as part of their folk dress.

Ramberg is a village of around 350 people, nestled in the breathtaking Lofoten archipelago, surrounded by pristine beaches and sharp, towering mountain peaks. Fittingly, the name translates to “frame” and “mountain”.
